The LED handcrank powered Slik-Stik

Here’s a nice update to the classic boring walking stick.  It adds a few extra features that make using a walking stick far more convenient.  The big perk being that the stick is housed with LED lights.  Making walking at night a lot easier to do and definitely a lot more safe.  Even better is that the LED lights shine in two different directions.  One shines up ahead and the other at your feet, making it highly less likely you’ll stumble over any unseen objects.

The Slik-Stik walking stick has other nice features such as having a built-in magnet for when items are dropped.  It also has a wrist strap to make sure you don’t drop the cane itself, there is also a rubberized hand grip with a non-slip coating to prevent dropping.  The cane has a four position stem that will adjust to the height that is most comfortable for you.  It also folds up to make it easier to store when it’s not in use.  To power the lights you can either plug it in or wind it up for a slightly more eco-friendly approach.

Handpresso gives you espresso on the go

When you’re traveling, sometimes you have to give up your precious cup of espresso.  Which can actually be more catastrophic for those that have to deal with you than it actually is for you.  So as a service to the people around you, you should make sure that you’re never away from your coveted caffeine fix.  To do that, you will need this Handpresso.  It’s small enough to easily pack away in a suitcase so that it will be handy no matter where you travel.

Although it might not be quite up to the quality of a machine that you might use at home, it would at least be far better than nothing at all.  In order to work the hand held item, just use the handle to pump in air up until you reach 16 bars of pressure.  Then pour the hot water and press the release button.  It then dispenses espresso with crema on top.  There is no power needed, making it even more travel friendly.  You can pick it up for $99 through Amazon.

Cole Cleaner disenfects cans with UV light

For most people it would seem ridiculous to sanitize a can with an ultraviolet gadget.  After all, cans usually appear clean, so most people don’t feel the need to worry any further about it.  However, the fact of the matter is, manufacturers are more worred about the creation of the cans than the actual sanatizing process.  Before that can gets to you, it has changed hands, been packed in crates and being in a factory where they create a syrup, pretty much guaruntees they’ve been around rats.

Granted, even with that in mind, I’ve ignored that and still preferred to drink directly from the can.  However, someone with more common sense than myself, might find such thoughts a bit discouraging.  Personally, although I’ve been well educated on germs and bacteria, I still tend to ignore all the extra protocols that are supposed to be taken.  This UV concept design was created by Leon Peng.  It sanitizes one can at a time.  If you don’t want to wait around for this to be created, there are plenty of UV wands out there that would work just fine for the job.  Actually better since you could use the wand for more objects than just cans.  Yes, perhaps cans do need to be sanitized, but having a product that only sanitizes cans just seems to be a waste of good money.

ThumbTack is a microphone for the Nano 4G and Touch 2G. Shaped like an ordinary thumbtack, this device plugs into the 3.5mm headphone jack and can be used as a voice recorder. Small and unintrusive, this may go well with the anticipated iPhone OS 3.0 mic applications.

Handpresso DomePod - Portable Espresso with Ground Coffee

Handpresso DomePod - Portable Espresso with Ground Coffee

Handpresso has announced a Handpresso DomePod which uses ground coffee instead of ESE espresso pods. Personally we prefer less mess when making out portable espresso, but if you’re a true espresso snob you’re going to want to grind and use your own. The DomePod allows you to pack up your favorite Arabica, Robusta, or Fair Trade coffee instead of being able to source your coffee in ESE pod form. The patented Handpresso Domepod system makes it easy to empty the coffee grounds â€" a simple click on the dome is enough. You can fill 3 DomePods and take them with you in the included case.

    Shower for your iPhone

    Shower for your iPhone

Touch screen gizmos are all very impressive but you have to touch them. Lots. And because your fingers are greasy, mucky and coated in a layer of unidentifiable gunk, beloved screens soon resemble windows dipped in chip fat and sprinkled with dust, dandruff and gawd knows what else. So thank goodness for the Procare Mobile Touch Screen Cleaning Kit.

Last Week’s Coolest Gadget Winner is…

The winner of last week’s coolest gadget competition is the Great Pyramid PC.

This has to be one of the coolest PC case mods we have seen so far here at geeky gadgets, the Great Pyramid PC Mod, made by modder polo360x from the Techpowerup forums.

This amazing case was made from a customized Luxor Pyramid case, which was made from laser cut aluminum, and is a combination of black and silver aluminum, the base measures 19 by 19 inches and the case stands 25 inches tall (there were only ever 200 of these cases ever made, and it looks like there is one less).

    Congrats again to Geeky Gadgets.

    Tiny worktop dishwasher
In second place we have the Tiny worktop dishwasher.

This tiny dishwasher is small enough to fit on your worktop. It prides itself on being green and saving on energy and water and is ideal for people living on their own or for couples. Whoever uses it, it certainly beats washing up.

    Dolphin Monofin
Finally in third place comes the Dolphin Monofin.

If you ever imagined what it must be like to swim like a fish, you may just get your chance. Engineer Ted Ciamillo has come up with a carbon fiber and fiberglass monofin, allowing a swimmer power through the water at 8 mph, twice the speed of Michael Phelps.
