GPGPU Technology and the ATI Radeon 4670 arrives on the Studio XPS 16

studio-xps-16The Dell Studio XPS 16 is one of the better entertainment notebooks around these days, and it has recently gotten better thanks to the inclusion of a new graphics option in the form of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 1GB as long as you are willing to drop another Benjamin to the total purchase price. With such a powerful graphics card for notebooks, you can definitely bring your gaming with you although you’d do well to keep a keen eye out for power outlets. In addition, GPGPU technology will allow specially written software to repurpose the GPU to perform other parallel processing tasks traditionally handled by the CPU. In essence, you can get even more work done within a specific time period such as working on a Word document while GPGPU technology quietly works in the background on on other processor-intensive activities such as encoding media, handling natural interface movements like facial recognition and gesturing, and the ilk.

ProClip USA offers bunch of device holders

    proclip-usa

ProClip USA has recently announced a bunch of device holders which were specially designed to securely mount the recently released iPhone 3G S to car, truck and SUV dashboards alongside consoles. These were specially custom made to connect to vehicle-specific ProClip dashboard mounts, giving superior viewing and easier access. Of course, you can always attach the ProClip holders to other flat surfaces. Below are the new products available for your perusal.

The Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel is custom made with a neat and discreet design. It tilts 15 degrees in any direction for optimal viewing. Your iPhone 3G S easily slides in and out of the holder.

The Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel and Charging/USB Cable has a cable permanently attached to the base so when your device is slid into the holder it connects to the cable. Then the cable can either be plugged into your car’s 12V power outlet or any female USB connection. You can easily slide your iPhone in and out of the holder. The Holder angles 15 degrees for optimal viewing.

The Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector will make docking and undocking, your iPhone 3G S, easier and more convenient. Attach your stereo cable, charging cable or any other iPhone compatible cable, to the bottom of the holder, to create a docking station. Your iPhone 3G S is conveniently on the dash within easy reach and slides in and out of the holder with one hand. The holder is custom made with a neat and discreet design and tilts 15 degrees, in any direction, for optimal viewing.

The Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector has all the benefits of the above Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector plus it is designed to accommodate your encased iPhone 3G S. This Adjustable Holder will adjust from a width of 2.3″ (60mm) to 3.2″ (82mm).

The ProClip Vehicle Mount provides the mounting platform to attach any of the ProClip holders. The ProClip Vehicle Mount is the only vehicle specific, consumer installable mounting bracket in today’s global market. The mount clips into the dashboard seams, providing a very sturdy and tight fit. Average installation time is 2 minutes. No dismantling of the dashboard is required and there is no damage to the vehicle’s interior!

Guess there is a little bit of something for everyone, unless you don’t own a vehicle, of course, then you’ll just need to stash your iPhone 3G S into your pocket while you get about on public transport.

In addition, it is also capable of providing the user with the ability to calculate calories burned based on steps. Specially developed to monitor one’s heart rate immediately before and after exercise, the Live-Lite will accurately count the number of jogging and walking steps, helping one keep track of the exercise times with stop-watch functions while calculating the distance traveled and calories burned, ensuring valuable feedback for folks who want to meet their fitness goals.

iPod Dock stacks on interchangeable gadgets

    stack

With reading about concept designs, you never know what you’re going to get.  Sometimes they’re fairly reasonable and then there are others that are just far fetched and ridiculous.  Then there are those you just hope the technology is out there to make it possible, because it would make things far more simple.  Which is where this design would fall into.  It is a dock for your iPod, but it allows for other things to be stacked along with it, besides just ordinary speakers.

You could choose how many speakers you wanted, along with adding a couple of things you might not expect.  Things like a light to give a nice glow along with your tunes, as well as an air purifier.  Adding an air purifier to it would make it so that you didn’t have a separate purifier cluttering up your desk.  The design was created by Sang-hoon Lee.  It may never make it to an actual store, but it’d definitely be nice if it did.

The Philips SpotOn Motion Sensing LED Light

    6a00d8341c5dea53ef011571f504da970b-800wi

Most people have a few different areas that are just dark.  Be it a coat closet that lacks a light or an incredibly deep cabinet that stays constantly pitch black, there are just bound to be those areas.  Some are willing to grab a flashlight for those times when lighting is needed.  However, if your hands are usually full when you’re dealing with a particular linen closet, it can be highly inconvenient.  Which is where this Philips SpotOn light would come in extremely handy.

It’s an affordable little light that is hung on the wall itself.  When it senses movement, it just automatically kicks on.  So you won’t have to worry about flipping a switch when your hands are already full.  It’s a small light with a total of 3 energy efficient LED lights.  It shuts back off within 20 seconds if it doesn’t sense any further movement.  To keep it running you’ll need 3 AAA batteries.  You can purchase it for $15.50 from Energy Circle.

The Light Pillow

    lightpillow

This is one of those lamps you really wish you could afford so that you could place it in your child’s room.  Then investing quite a bit in giving the room a highly whimsical theme and creating basically a dream land.  Odd lighting that no one would ever expect to see always makes for a great way to change up a room.  Even a normally plain room would be perked up with something like this.

It can be tossed onto the floor, placed on a table, hung on the wall or even used as a chandelier.  It’s also easy to wash, so for those of you that would use this for a kid, it’d still be a great option.  The cover itself is completely removable and made of 100% cotton, while the frame is made of powder-coated metal.  They don’t actually give any indication as to what type of light bulb this would need or if it’s an LED light.  You can purchase this Light Pillow, designed by Linus Kutavicius, for $189 from Generate.
