Samsung Jack to arrive this May 19th

i637jackSamsung does make pretty good cell phones, and they have managed to introduce the super slim culture quite a few years back with the Ultra series. Their efforts on the smartphone front ain’t too shabby either with the BlackJack and BlackJack II offering a decent Windows Mobile experience wherever you are, but they do pale in comparison (along with a majority of other handsets, I might add) with the mighty iPhone when it comes to usability and ease-of-use. Well, Samsung ain’t about to throw in the towel just yet by getting ready to release the new Jack which will be available from AT&T this May 19th.

Hopefully the Samsung Jack will be able to follow in the footsteps of its predecessors, and it does help that the device looks pretty sleek and serious for the business person. Definitely not a phone you would want to pull out and flash for some fashion points, as the main focus is keeping you connected at all times no matter where you are over the nation’s fastest 3G network. In order to compose your emails and text messages in double quick time, Samsung has thrown in an optimized keyboard for accurate typing alongside a bevy of communications options including SMS, instant messaging as well as access to multiple e-mail accounts.

The inclusion of Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile on the Jack allows both enterprise and small business customers to stay connected with synchronization of schedules and contacts, while Internet Explorer Mobile makes Web browsing painless. As for Office Mobile, productivity is enhanced on-the-go thanks to its ability to handle Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. It might run on Windows Mobile 6.1 at this moment, but it can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 when that becomes available. Other hardware specifications include 256MB RAM, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video-capture capabilities, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) connectivity and integrated aGPS support.

ATI Radeon HD 4890 breaks 1GHz barrier

    ati-radeon-hd-4890

Gamers will tell you that it is all about the speed with every single bit of special effects cranked up to the maximum without losing a single frame, but unfortunately for the average man on the street, purchasing a couple or even three of such high-end video cards places a great strain on the monthly budget, which is why high-end video cards are never the main bread-and-butter products for companies that churn them out, although they are great technological breakthroughs and examples worth drooling over. AMD’s recent launch of the ATI Radeon HD 4890 graphics card that was touted to be the most powerful graphics processor in the world is now even better, as AMD has made available a factory overclocked graphics processor which will be the first of its kind to break the 1GHz barrier using nothing but standard air-cooling solutions.

AMD has broken a rather notable engineering milestone by being the first graphics company to overcome the fabled 1GHz barrier, where it uses highly advanced GDDR5 memory alongside the mentioned 1GHz clock speed, allowing it to deliver a whopping 1.6 TeraFLOPs of computing power which is 50% more compared to its fiercest competitor’s high end single-GPU solution. This unprecedented level of raw computing power will definitely offer unseen levels of general purpose GPU-accelerated performance in ATI Stream applications, including video transcoding and post processing.

You can expect gamers salivating in anticipation with the new ATI Radeon HD 4890, and those who are interested can pick it up from various AMD technology partners such as Sapphire, XFX, Asus and TUL. The most advanced design so far, you will be able to take advantage of ground-breaking DirectX 10.1 titles including Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X., Electronic Art’s BattleForge and SEGA’s Stormrise which were released last month. After all, why settle for DirectX 10 game play when DirectX 10.1 games have been proven to deliver higher game performance and an improved visual experience?
