The Darth Vader Alarm Clock Radio
This Darth Vader clock was cool and all, but it’s not nearly as ominous as this new clock that will be coming out soon from Sakara. Nothing will scare you out of the bed quite as quickly as turning over to find Darth Vader staring back at you. It helps a bit that there are numbers that glow in his eyes, therefore it’s quite clear that this is a clock. Hopefully you don’t get startled too badly and bash the clock to death with your toy lightsaber though. If you did, then you’d have to pick up a new one and repeat the process. It’d be a much more therapeutic way to make the beeping stop though. Even if it would cost you $29.99 every single time you had to pick up a new one. At least it isn’t horribly expensive. The clock also includes an AM/FM radio and an audio jack input for MP3 players. It also has the usual things such as a snooze button with the added addition of being able to choose between three different sound effects. The alarm clock will eventually be posted on Sakar’s website, but so far it’s nowhere to be found. | The antique recreation Fargo Fan
Having a fan around is always nice and this one would make a classy addition to any office or home. It was originally created in the 1920’s specifically for bankers. The Fargo Fan was made to give a really nice breeze, while at the same time not blowing around their paperwork. Making it a still convenient choice for anyone who messes with paperwork in their office quite often. This isn’t the exact same fan from the 1920’s, more of a remake actually. I don’t think that would bother anyone though. It comes in three different finishes, one is the bright silver shown here that features a satin nickel finish base and chrome accents. Another has an oil-rubbed bronze finish base with antique brass accents and finally the last comes with a burgundy faux leather base and brushed brass accents. If forced to choose between the three, I might have a bit of a hard time. No matter which you choose though, these definitely look like something straight out of a Superman comic that might be found on the desk of a reporter at The Daily Planet. Although Fanimation has these posted online, you’ll have to contact them to find a vendor and find out how much one of these will set you back. | The Jewel Apple Necklace USB Drive
This apple very much reminds me of something you’d find on the neck of a realtor, teacher or elderly secretary. Making it a flash drive that’s likely to appeal to the older crowd, which is definitely not a bad thing. It’s probably not going to be something you find on the neck of a 20-something. For the older ladies though, this apple conveniently hides away a flash drive. It does so in a way that it’s unlikely that the drive would slip out of the necklace on accident for some reason. The shiny apple comes in various colors, red, pink, blue and white. The white is a little less cheesy, but still comes with the bright gold chain. It’d be nice if they sold a silver colored chain to go with the necklace. It hangs on a long chain and the pendant itself weighs 40g. The drive is a 2GB drive, so it’s not very large, but it’ll still work for many people I’m sure. It’d make a great Mother’s Day gift if you’re still looking. It won’t break the bank either since it’s priced at $21. | LumiGram Bed Cover
This next product is for those who want one of those âsexyâ bedrooms. You know, the type with the silk sheets, the bearskin rugs and the tiger and leopard print blankets. Yeah, the Luminex Fiber Optic Bed Covers would make a lovely edition to a âlove bedroomâ. Who wouldnât be dazzled by bed covers that glow in the dark? Now all that is missing is the Barry White music. âOoh baby baby, your loveâs so good it makes the sheets glowâ. The glow effect is produced by fiber optics sewn directly into the covers themselves, and it has to be plugged into the wall for power. In case you are wondering, this doesnât work as an electric blanket in the sense that it raises the temperature. As for how to wash these covers, I believe they are hand washable with natural soap. It doesnât look like you have to worry about getting these bed covers wet. So if you or your partner spill the champagne, no problem! You realize that this lightshow will cost you. A 63 x 78.8 inch (160 x 200 cm) cover costs about $660. Yeah, I probably wouldnât spend that much on my whole honeymoon, and a honeymoon suite is where these sheets belong. By the way, what is that thing to the left of the pillow in this picture? Is it someoneâs leg, or is my imagination playing tricks on me? Source
| New GE Breakthrough: 100 DVDs on 1 Disc!
Okay, hereâs a quick question: how many DVDs do you own? If you have less than 100, then there is now a way to put them all onto one disc. It would appear that General Electric is the one who is responsible for this technological breakthrough. The company who has been âbringing good things to lifeâ have used holograms to make this good thing a reality. This could eventually lead to micro-holographic players that could play CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and these cool holographic discs. These discs could hold 500 GB of memory, and it is possible to produce these holographic discs at 10 cents per gigabyte. That is a lot cheaper than the $1 a gigabyte for a 25 gigabyte disc. As I said before, these micro-holograms can create a capacity of putting 100 average DVDs on one disc, and it is possible to put 20 Blu-rays discs on one. These jam-packed holographic discs will come in handy when it comes to high resolution formats like 3-D television, which is getting bigger everyday. I hope that the Research and Development at GE are celebrating the six years of work to make this revolutionary technology. Of course, it will probably take a while before the consumer can get their hands on it, and even longer before it is cheap. Source
| Spread Tweet: An Excel-ed Twitter
I almost feel bad for reporting on this next product, as it is one of those that encourages a double-life. This is for all of those people out there who are addicted to Twitter, but have bosses who donât approve of any personal use of computers on âcompany timeâ. Yeah, as if any company can own time! On second thought, I highly endorse this product, because I know what it is like to work for âThe Manâ. The last time I was working for âThe Manâ, twitter hadnât been invented yet, but Iâm certain that he would have never let me do that. However, if I had Spread Tweet, my Twitter life would appear on my monitor like an ordinary spreadsheet. As long as my boss didnât look too closely, then he or she would be none the wiser. I suppose the real question is âhow long can this fool the bossâ? What if you have to walk away from the computer, and you get back to find de Boss looking a little too closely at the Spread Tweet. You might want to have an explanation prepared for when that happens. In fact, that might be a good disclaimer for the site. As far as I know, Spread Tweet is only available here. Source
| Epsonâs Home Theater Ensemble is an all in one Home theater solution
Home theater in a box really isnât. Itâs a surround receiver, some cheap speakers and a DVD player, sure, but thereâs way more to the equation than just audio. And Epson is betting that with the transition to HDTV in full swing, people looking for an all in one solution to transform that den into a serious home THEATER will be looking their way. Enter the new Ensemble HD Home Theater kits. Ranging from $5,000 and up, the new Ensemble HD home theater kits come with literally everything you need to turn that extra room into more than just a TV unit, but a silver screen theatrical experience. The bargain kit comes with a 720 front projector, while the $6500 and $8,000 model enjoy Epsonâs 3LCD 1080p front projector systems. Also included in the kits are motorized 100-inch screen, integrated surround sound, AV controller with built-in DVD player, universal remote, and installation kit to get it up on the wall and hooked together. Now sure, that sounds like a bunch of coin. But when you consider that piecemeal, this would probably all run nearly twice that (those 100 inch screens really arenât cheap) even the bargain basement $5 grand kit amounts to a screaming good deal for those who like both pro sports and action flicks. The only thing really missing is the popcorn. Hat Tip - Oh Gizmo
| Makinâ your own pasta, the Japanese way
Sure, you can get an attachment for that Kitchen Aide mixer which will allow you to make your own fettucine, but short of cannibalizing your kids Play Doh pumper number 9, you wonât get the chance to make elbow pasta or wheel pasta or those cute little bow ties. If you could do that, then making pasta would be something more interesting as there are literally hundreds of styles of pasta that can be made by pushing your semolina through a die cast mold. This Japanese model, called âPasta Pastaâ does just that. Okay, the Pasta Pasta only makes just eight different kinds, and you have to hand crank it, but still, it can be fun. You just mix up and refrigerate some pasta dough, and when itâs firm enough, roll up some into a tube and place it into the canister. Rig that into the pumping mechanism, and start cranking. The dough gets forced through the die cast molds and then all one needs to do is cut off the shape when it makes the required thickness. Lather, rinse, repeat. In addition to fettucine, the Pasta Pasta makes bowties, elbows, wagon wheels, twirls, raviolis, medallions and what looks to be a shell like pasta. Cool âas seen on TVâ video here. All parts are made of ABS plastic and clean up is promised to be simple. Cost is about $155 US from Japan Trend Shop. Hat Tip â" Random Good Stuff
