Monkey Head USB Speaker
If you’re on the lookout for speakers that are a little more fun to carry around with you, these would definitely qualify. If the bright colors aren’t enough to classify them that way, the monkey head shape definitely lands them in that category. Plus they’re small enough to make sure that you can toss them in a bag and keep one with you. As cheap as they are, you could also have two to have one handy as a back up for when the other speaker runs out of juice. The speakers are of course rechargeable and have a built-in Lithium Ion battery. To charge them back up again, you’ll just need to plug them into a USB port. They unfortunately don’t say how long that battery will last though. You can purchase the speaker in the two colors you see here, yellow and orange. Sorry, there are no subtle colors for those of you that try to stray from things that could be described as fluorescent. You can purchase one for $10 from USB Geek. | Viewsonic VFD820-12
Viewsonic has been putting out a lot of cool products lately, and one of their most recent is the VFD820-12, an 8-inch digital photo frame. I had a chance to try out this product for myself, and I didnât find it any different than the GiiNii 8-inch Multimedia Digital Picture Frame that I currently have on my wall. The operation is very simple on both of these products: just insert your SD card or flash drive memory stick, turn it on, and you already have everything you need for a slideshow. I donât have much experience with digital picture frames, but I am guessing this is standard operation procedure for any electronic frame these days. The VFD820-12 has an internal memory of 2G, so you should have quite enough room for many, many pictures. The VFD820-12 also has a âclock and calendar to keep you on scheduleâ, but I found it difficult to set the time from the menu. The controllers arenât as easy as the GiiNii one, as it has all the buttons in a row rather than bunched together in an instinctive, almost iPod formation. Yeah, I should probably stop comparing the VFD820-12 with that one form GiiNii. However, the one from Viewsonic has one very cool feature, an included glass screen that gives it a classy look. You should be able to purchase this Viewsonic frame on Amazon for about $79.99 in Black and Espresso color. Source
| Baseball with Built-in Radar Gun
Isn’t it time you got out to your lawn and start pitching some balls to your kid to spend some quality parent-child time? Why not do so with the Baseball with Built-in Radar Gun - this is one high-tech ball that will help you strive to do your best always since it comes with an integrated radar gun that is able to tell just how fast your last throw was, maxing out at 120mph. Of course, if you happen to throw past that limit regularly, we’d strongly suggest you go for your state team’s tryouts as any team would definitely be able to make do with another starter. One word of caution though - don’t bother hitting this ball with a bat, otherwise all of the electronics inside would screw up. Source: Craziest Gadgets
| Flashlight Wristwatch
Most of us wear a watch on our wrists, but how many of those actually illuminate at night so that you can tell the time at a glance? This isn’t exactly an essential feature but a nice one to have, although many more people now rely on their cellphones to tell the time while using the screen’s bright light to double up as an imprompty flashlight in the process. Enter the Flashlight Wristwatch that merges both devices into a single model. This is the wristwatch that has three LEDs in its face that provide bright illumination or a soft, ambient glow. The LEDs are located at the Noon, four, and eight positions on the watch; the first press of the button causes the LEDs to generate soft blue light that illuminates the watch’s face–ideal for reading a theater program–and the second press generates bright white light. A third press of the button shuts off all LEDs. The white LEDs can illuminate subjects up to 10′ away, ideal for finding keys and opening a door at night. The rechargeable watch uses electromagnetic quartz movement for precise timekeeping for up to three months on an eight-hour charge from the included charging stand. The hands and markers are luminescent. The solid stainless steel case and mineral crystal dome provide a sealed environment that is water-resistant down to 165′. If dad is in need of a new watch this coming Father’s Day, have you considered the $149.95 Flashlight Wristwatch? After all, Internet shopping helps relieve you of driving down to the store and jostling for your place in line with the rest of the commoners.
| 3D Star Wars Starfighter Kites
Star Wars fans will definitely find the following 3D Star Wars Starfighter Kites something worth purchasing, especially for those who live in the northern hemisphere where summer’s here, which means spending plenty of time outdoors with family and friends to enjoy the nice, warm sun before the chill of autumn and winter sets in. Each ship is presented in all the kite detail that kites can provide. You can choose from either Luke’s X-Wing, Vader’s Tie Fighter, or Han’s Millennium Falcon (hey, he won it fair and square). Imagine the peaceful, floaty dogfights as Darth chases Luke in the trench of a cloudy-made Death Star, with Han zipping in and taking Darth down. Just like the movies, but a lot more relaxing. We love it, the Alderaanians loved it, and so will you. Imagine having kite fights with these, where fierce battles are not decided by turbo lasers but the sheer sharpness of crushed glass pasted across the entire length of the kite’s line. The 3D Star Wars Starfighter Kites will retail for $39.99 each.
| Artmu Laptop Sleeve converts to mouse pad
Laptop sleeves really only have one function and that’s to protect your laptop from minor scrapes and bumps. They just keep things padded on the off chance that you accidentally knock it into a wall or anything equally clumsy. Beyond that, they just don’t do a whole lot. Well this new sleeve makes an attempt to give your laptop case a little more function. Instead of just tossing the case aside when you’re using your laptop, you could use it. This Aving case unzips and opens up so that one side of it can be used as a mouse pad. Of course it’s rare that most people would think they’d need a mouse pad. Most of us have switched to an optical mouse and haven’t used a mouse with a ball in it for quite some time. However, we’ve all had those moments when our mouse does not want to work on the surface we need it to. Such as something that’s a little too reflective or has too much texture. In those cases you would have this case handy and not have to worry about it. You can purchase the cases in varying sizes and colors, the prices start out at $15. | Terminator Skull Copter
Iâm sure most of you have seen action-film director McGâs take on Warner Brothers popular franchise with Terminator: Salvation. Iâm sure you just love the scene where Christian Bale is attacked by a whole fleet of helicopters that look like terminator heads. Oh, you donât remember that scene? Me neither. Well, if you want to act out your own version, feel free to purchase many Bladez Terminator Salvation Flying Skulls. This flying chopper features ârealistic battle sound effectsâ. Of course, I canât imagine a realistic battle with giant helicopter skulls, but for some reason, I want to put in âpew pewâ sounds. Iâm assuming these sounds are accessible with the remote control. It would appear that the user has âprecision controlâ, which must mean that you can do some serious movements with these flying skullicopters. This toy also features blades that fold on impact, which is something that most real helicopters donât have. Well, if you know someone who will be considerably freaked out by a flying metal skull, this might be worth the £29.99. If you are looking for one of those flying ships that the Terminators actually used in the actual Terminator movies, you might have to wait longer, like 2018. Source
| Are you Bowlingual?
I just saw the movie Up with my kids the other day, and if you havenât seen it, you should. Iâm not spoiling anything by saying that there are several scenes with talking dogs, because they put several of those scenes on the commercial. Iâm going to assume that the Bowlingual is nowhere near the cool tech from Up, but TakaraTomy says its as easy as âplace the bark-sensor collar around your pupâs neck, then grab the wireless controller and the Bowlingual Voice will speak on your dogâs behalfâ. You have to ask yourself what the remote control is for. Perhaps it is to toggle it into different languages, like that dial on the dog collars on Up that could change languages and dialects. Okay, does anyone else think that this device is a load of bark? If this technology works, why isnât it being applied to all animals? I remember in the movie Congo this ape that could use sign language on an electric glove to speak to others, so letâs get a âMeowlingualâ working, huh? In all honesty, most of the time, my dog speaks without barking. For example, when she paces near the door, sheâs saying: âhey, man, I got to go out, you know what I mean, out?â Make a Bowlingual for that, Takara Tomy! Well, if it does work, I hope it gives my dog a good voice, not like the Alpha dog Doberman in Up. Iâm not going to spoil that joke, just see the film and buy this Bowlingual product, maybe.
| The QSTARZ Qfinder GF-Q900 GPS Backtrack
Despite enjoying the great outdoors, not everyone is naturally skilled at finding their way back from where they came from. Even with a compass, if you happen to have a bad memory, it’s not going to go well. Under the wrong circumstances, losing your way can become catastrophic quickly. Well instead of attempting to find your way back to your camp with a compass alone, you could use this Qfinder instead. It won’t appeal to those that prefer to figure things out on their own, but for those that are rookies at navigation, it’d be great to have around. It does actually have a compass too, so you could practice learning to use the compass a little more, even with this gadget around. To use it, before you leave camp, mark your location. It’ll allow for you to mark a total of 4 different locations. Then you can wander off and when you need to get back to that spot, just set the device. It’ll then show you the direction and the distance to that marked spot. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries and has an LCD display with backlight. You can purchase it for $79. | Metal Detecting Sandals
If you think it’s a little bit nerdy wandering around a beach waving a metal detector from side to side a solution is now at hand, well feet actually; the Metal Detecting Sandals (white socks optional). These are the sandals that can detect metal while you walk, allowing you to find buried artifacts while strolling the beach. A copper coil built into the right sandal is powered via a battery pack that straps to your calf. Using beat frequency oscillation technology, the ring creates a magnetic field; when a metal object is underfoot–up to 2′–it distorts the field and the battery pack alerts you to the presence of metal using a flashing red light and either a gentle vibration or a clearly audible buzz. You can buy the Metal Detecting Sandals from Hammacher for $59.95.
| The Mommy Iâm Here Child Locator
Attempting to keep track of an active toddler is never an easy task. Even for the most careful parent out there, it’s possible to lose track of them quickly, which can be nerve wrecking. You could also think you lost them, when in reality they’re just right behind you. With this little bear, you’d know that they’re always within 25 feet of you. It’s a two part device, the bear stays on the child and you have another half that stays on you. That makes it so that you know they’re still within a safe distance. The bad thing is that 25 feet isn’t actually all that much range. If you’re in a big open park, you’d have to stay close to your child, despite that you’re in an area that they’d be safe to run. It would be nice if you could adjust the distance your child can be from you. When they do get outside that range, it gives a chirping type noise through your receiver to let you know. You can then activate the 86-decibel alarm on the child so that you can blow their eardrums find them quickly. The set will cost you $34.99 on Amazon.
