Baby Sshh Bee soothes little ones

baby-shh-beeBabies can’t talk, so they cry in order to communicate their needs to their parents. Of course, first time parents will go through plenty of trial and error before they figure out what cry means what, but here’s something that might help parents regain enough sleep (and sanity) with a newborn - the Baby Sshh Bee.

The Baby Sshh-Bee has been developed in collaboration with the Japan Acoustic Lab to create a toy that will help soothe your baby and stop them crying. The Baby Sshh comforts your baby by distracting them - the sounds and music it plays have a constantly changing tempo designed to make your baby curious. Your baby will be so busy trying to make sense of the wonderful noises coming out of their new toy that they’ll completely forget about crying. You activate the toy’s two different modes by pressing the buttons on the Bee’s face. Mode 1 plays scientifically developed melodies that constantly shift their tempo. It’s so effective that it distracted half of the office when we were testing it. Mode 2 plays some very silly noises indeed that trigger your youngster’s curiosity.

Apart from the couple of cracking audio modes, the toy itself features a squeaky tummy, dangly legs and crinkly wings to keep your little one occupied. Bear in mind that the £14.99 Baby SShh Bee works great only if your baby isn’t in genuine distress. If he/she is hungry, then feed him/her!

Leyio data mate

leyioWith storage space getting dirt cheap by the day, it is no wonder that we tend to hoard downloaded files and snapped photos like nobody’s business. After all, there’s still plenty of room left to spare on the hard drive, ain’t it? It can get pretty hard to know which file you’ve sent to which portable hard drive, but this is where the Leyio aims to help you get more organized, albeit on a much smaller scale.

Flexing 16GB of onboard flash, it’s roomy enough to accommodate thousands of pictures or songs or Powerpoint Presentations or… However, where Leyio departs from your traditional memory devices is in its ability to share. Using Ultra-Wideband radio technology, two Leyios can transfer files between each other at a startling rate of up to 10MB per second. Simply pair them up, select the file you wish to share and then transmit the data from one to the other, with a flick of the wrist.

Available in Ice Grey, Pink and Mirror colors, don’t be fooled into thinking this is just another USB flash drive. It even comes with a 2GB USB ’shuttle’ integrated into its case that can be pulled out when you need a smaller USB flash drive on-the-go - just remember to attach it back when you’re done! Leyio also comes with a 1.5″ OLED display that allows you to view its contents without having to boot up your computer, and the biometric thumbprint detector is there for additional security. Air Cooler PLUS keeps you cool

waterless-airSummer’s here, and the world has to go on even when a couple of celebrities have signed out permanently in the past week. Well, guess sweat and tears will mix throughout the world as most people who grew up in the 1980s mourn for the passing of the King of Pop and to a lesser extent, the most outstanding Charlie’s Angel from the original trio. Well, it need not be this way for places that are experiencing summer (or if you happen to live in a desert or a place along the Equator where it is summer all year round), as there is the new waterless Air Cooler PLUS that provides air cooler comfort without the swamp cooler odor produced by water-based evaporative coolers.

What makes the new Air Cooler PLUS different from conventional air coolers? For starters, it is waterless, hence being able to provide effective cooling in even the muggiest humidity levels. This is also the rare few (some would even claim it is the only one) air cooler that does not add humidity to the room, making it a suitable choice for folks who hate the musky smell that comes as an unwanted side effect. Currently, the Air Cooler PLUS is available for immediate shipment for relief from soaring summer temperatures. Needless to say, t is much more energy efficient and environmentally friendly compared to a regular air conditioner, and if you are able to do away with a couple of drops in the temperature notch, why not take the air cooler route?

The Air Cooler PLUS was designed with a patent-pending waterless cooling chamber that stores a couple of advanced frozen gel packs and boasts an energy-efficient variable-speed fan. These gel packs are filled with advanced HD-Ice material, where each of them offer more cooling than conventional ice. All cooled air will flow through a special dry HEPA filter to make sure unwanted dust and other microbes won’t make their rounds around the room. Tipping the scales at less than 25 pounds, you can be sure the Air Cooler PLUS is highly portable compared to your air conditioner or portable AC units. It costs around $0.12 a day to operate, the rough equivalent of burning one 60-watt light bulb.

Twilight USB Drive features the Cullen family crest

    fu1002lg-300x300

It seems that Entertainment Earth is coming out with a few different USB drives, one of which will appeal to the Twilight fans.  It’s a little on the bulky side of things, but features the Cullen family crest.  Then just in case you’re worried that people won’t realize how much of a Twilight fan  you are, it has Twilight stamped on the bottom.  Taking away any doubt anyone might have that you can’t get enough of anything and everything Twilight.

The drive stores 2GB of data and unfortunately isn’t out just yet.  It’ll become available in October of this year.  However, to help pass the time, perhaps you could purchase yourself some felt and create your very own felt Bella fetus.  That or you could come up with your very own disturbing Twilight craft project.  The flash drive can be pre-ordered now for $24.99.  Then once it’s released in the fall, it will be all ready and paid for.

The Fake Car Key Security Spy Camera

    fake-car-key-security-spy-camera-_1

If you thought that the keychain spy camera wasn’t quite stealthy enough, this car key might work a little bit better.  Just close up the key part and it would cover up all of the spots that let on that it’s actually a spy camera in disguise.  Closing up the key won’t obstruct the view of the camera itself though.  There’s just a small hole at the bottom of the plastic part, that no one would ever suspect is a camera.

This fake key comes from Brando just like the keychain.  It’s also extremely similar, the biggest difference is that they are two different shapes.  This fake key has 2GB of built-in memory and can shoot at 29 FPS.  The color video resolution is at 640 x 480 and then the image resolution is 1280 x 960 pixels.  It has video as well as audio and a rechargeable Li-ion battery.  You can purchase it for $66 from Brando, which happens to be the exact same price as the keychain.  So you can pick and choose which look you like the best and not have to worry about price differences.

Star Wars TIE Fighter playhouse

    tie-fighter-playhouse

It can safely be said that virtually every kid you know these days have grown up watching at least one of the six Star Wars movies, and chances are pretty good they’ve seen them all many times. Well, not everyone is going to grow up to be part of the Jedi, as these younglings aren’t too young to figure out that the Dark Side of the Force seems to hold a whole lot of promise and power. Well, here’s the TIE Fighter playhouse that ought to give your little ones plenty of fun imagining that they’re Darth Vader, shooting down Red One in the Death Star trench run. Sounds like £44.99 well spent for the upcoming summer.

New series of Star Wars themed Flash Drives

    starwars-300x225

For those that have grown tired of the Star Wars accessories they already own or that have been available for a while, now there are some new ones coming out.  You can pick up one of these new USB drives that make each character look a bit like a bobble head doll.  Which also gives Darth Vader a cuddly feel, as opposed to making him look dark and brooding. If you don’t mind your Star Wars characters a little more cutesy, then these would be great flash drives.

They are each 2GB drives, which is kind of small, but for once they aren’t too badly priced.  Besides Yoda and Darth Vader, there is also a Boba Fett and Stormtrooper within the same series of drives.  They aren’t available just yet though, they’ll be coming out in October of this year.  You can pre-order them now though.  You can pre-order it for $24.99 from Entertainment Earth.
